I took my scrap copper in during the summer and got $2.50 per lb for it. Now it is bringing less than $1 per lb. Of course, I won't sell for that, I'll just wait on the price to come back up, but it's an interesting sign of the times to see it go so low. May not come back up until the housing market does, a long time.

The scrap copper prices are up. I got $1.60 per lb last week. Brass is up also, but Aluminum is still down to only $0.25.

This reminds me of the only thing I miss about my old job. I use to be a HVAC Installer for 10 years. We would save up our coils and lineset's for a month or two, then turn them in. We would get $500-$600 a pop. That was split 50-50.
When prices were down we would sit on it for a couple weeks.
The scrap yards started making you show ID because of all the copper theft's.
